The result was a whole new line of guns which replaced the majority of the more mature products in 1963–1964. The fast reaction with the shooting press and community was overwhelmingly damaging: the popular verdict was that Winchester experienced sacrificed good quality for the “cheapness experts,” and Winchester was no longer thought of as a
